Megaman Highlights Merchandise at Award Winning Psyche Store

A variety of Megaman lamps have been used in the refurbishment of The Psyche Department Store in Middlesborough, with the aim of reducing energy and showing the merchandise off to best effect. The lamps, which were chosen for the project by Psyche's managing director Steve Cochrane, have been used throughout the store to highlight the merchandise, particularly the mannequins and clothes rails. Steve commented "Megaman has, by far, the greatest range of energy efficient lamps on the market and, as far as I am concerned, are market leaders in CFL technology".
Established in 1982, Psyche is an exclusive multi award winning department store, where international fashion and lifestyle design meets contemporary art, luxury tailoring and footwear. It offers every label the discerning shopper could wish for, with over 150 designers, alongside 8000sq ft of exquisite childrenswear and a designer/couture bridal department. With one of the finest bistro bars in the Tees Valley, an award winning hair salon, beauty rooms, 4D baby scanning, home wares and a specialist CD and vinyl store. With a 270 seat rooftop restaurant and a 40 bed boutique hotel in development, Psyche is fast becoming the lifestyle destination in the North-East.
A wide selection of Megaman lamps have been utilised including CLUSTERLITE an innovative, high wattage lighting solution that provides a real alternative to HID lamps. Combining all the virtues of compact fluorescent technology, excellent lumen maintenance after 15,000 hours of operation, superb colour rendering and uniformity and excellent lumen output, CLUSTERLITE's performance exceeds that of the majority of HID lamps. Megaman's CFL-AR111, which has also been used throughout, is the worlds first CFL with narrow beam optics. Smoothly engineered into the stylish AR111 format, this lamp raises the bar in compact fluorescent performance and delivers a remarkable performance. The new LED version of this popular lamp is also being installed.
Megaman's 14W GU10 lamps, incorporating the company's exclusive Ingenium® technology which delivers breakthrough lighting performance and superior operating life expectancy of 15,000 hours, are providing an even light distribution in the store. In addition, the integral cooling tube keeps operating temperatures to a minimum for enhanced safety, making the GU10's suitable for use in areas where heat from halogen lamps can cause heat and glare discomfort. Megaman's new 7W LED version is also being installed. Andy Gunn from Agelec Limited, who undertook all of the lighting installation work, commented "We have installed a huge number of Megaman lamps in The Psyche Store over the last few months and we have found them to be a straightforward replacement for existing Halogen lamps. They provide a very impressive lighting effect and provide huge savings in running costs – overall a very cost effective solution with no compromise in quality of illumination".
Greg Pinnell from A & G Electrical Distributors Ltd in Hartlepool who supplied the lamps, commented "I believe that as far as low energy lamps are concerned Megaman are the best on the market for both reliability and performance. I am sure the money spent on the upgrade will show significant savings over time".
